Taylor Swift has officially joined the elite club of artists who have sold over a million copies of their CD in its debut week. The numbers have all been tallied and Taylor sold an impressive 1,047,000 copies of Speak Now its first week in stores. It’s estimated that one out of every five albums purchased in the last week was Taylor’s. The last country artist to sell more than a million copies of an album in its debut week was Garth Brooks and his Double Live CD back in 1998.

In other Taylor news she has been confirmed as a performer on the upcoming American Music Awards. Taylor will sing her ode to Taylor Lautner, “Back to December,” on the show that will air live from Los Angeles on November 21st on ABC.
