Miranda Lambert’s latest song, “Mama’s Broken Heart” was a song that she was never actually supposed to record, but she shares that through a family connection and a little vocal bargaining with the song’s writer, Kacey Musgraves, she was able to put it on her Four the Record album.  Miranda and Kacey grew up together back in Texas and they actually used to write songs together but then went their separate ways in life.  Kacey’s sister was the photographer at Miranda and Blake’s wedding, so Kacey attended the wedding and Miranda says, “At our rehearsal dinner, I went over and asked her, I was like, ‘Are you gonna cut this song, or can I have it?’ And she was like, ‘I’ll think about it for a couple of days.’ And she e-mailed me, and said, ‘You can have it, if I can sing harmony.’ So that’s her singin’ the harmonies on it… but I had to actually beg for this song, and so I’m thankful that she gave it to me ’cause I love ‘Mama’s Broken Heart.’ It’s an awesome song, and it’s been goin’ really well live, and I plan on makin’ an awesome video for it, as well, so we’re really excited.”
