Lady Antebellum Chooses One Ride for All

Lady Antebellum

Lady Antebellum has achieved worldwide success and could easily afford individual tour buses for each member of the band but most people might be surprised to know that Charles, Hillary and Dave still all travel together on one bus.  “There’ll be a point, I think, when kids kinda get in the picture and that might be a little harder,” says Charles, “but right now we’ve said that as long as we can stay on one bus together we remain closer, we write more.  I mean there’s so many times I’ll sit there and Dave’ll be in the front piddlin’ on a guitar idea or Hillary will be humming something and I sit there and I go, ‘I like what you’re playing right there.’  That wouldn’t happen if we were separated.”  All three of them agree that the togetherness is good for their creativity and good for the band.  Charles acknowledges “It’s obviously a heck of a lot cheaper,” but he also says, “I don’t want it to be one of those things where literally the first time you see each other is when you walk up and hit that first note.  That doesn’t feel like a travelin’ band.”
