Carrie Underwood is the February cover girl for Allure magazine. Inside she talks about finding her Prince Charming in Mike Fisher, the ultimate trust she shares with him, some of her beauty routines and tips, her stance on gay marriage and she also addresses the notion that Hayden Panettiere’s character on ABC’s Nashville is in any way based on her.
Carrie raised a few eyebrows and caught some backlash when she came out in favor of gay marriage during an interview with a British newspaper and she clarifies to Allure that it’s not about being for or against anything. “I’m in favor of acceptance,” she explains. “And I am a Christian person, and I do love the Lord, and I feel no matter who you are, what you believe, how you live your life, it’s not my place to judge. I don’t have that power. I don’t want that power. It’s my place to love and to show God’s love to other people, even if they don’t live a life like I live. So that’s where I’m coming from.”
On a lighter note, although Carrie could afford to have someone come out on the road with her and do her make-up for her every night on tour she says that’s actually one of the things she takes great pleasure in doing herself. “I’m a make-up junkie and it’s relaxing for me to do my own make-up,” says Carrie. Plus there aren’t many opportunities for her to enjoy some “me” time when she’s out on the road so she says those moments she spends putting on her own make-up give her a few minutes of “me” time before each show.
