Carrie Underwood won’t star in the live broadcast of The Sound of Music on NBC until the end of the year, but she’s already getting excited about playing Maria von Trapp. One thing she doesn’t know yet is who will be cast in the production with her. “I know that they’re really working hard to find that perfect blend,” says Carrie. “All the roles are such big roles and being able to sing and act and all that stuff is very important to have kind of that perfect balance of everything. So I’m excited to find out as well, who will be working with me.” One person who has been asking Carrie to help her get a part in the production is her mom. Carrie says, “My mom keeps [saying] she wants to be a nun. So she’s like ‘I can be a nun. I don’t have to say anything. I can be in there.’ And I’m like, ‘Mom, honey, mom, come on.’” That sounds like a no to us.
The three-hour live broadcast of The Sound of Music will air this December on NBC.
