While Brad Paisley can laugh all the way to the actual bank these days he says he can definitely relate to the storyline in his new single, “River Bank,” where the people don’t have a lot of money but are still just as happy as can be laughing all the way to the river bank. Brad reveals, “When I wrote ‘River Bank,’ I had this idea because I can remember the first writing deal I had when I was living in a little condo in Nashville. I didn’t have two dimes to scrape together, but I had a friend who had a bass boat. It was about a 16-footer. It was enough for two guys to go out on the lake, and we would meet up every day that was nice and save up, buy any kind of tackle we could afford, and just head up to either the Cumberland River or Percy Priest (Lake).”
Brad says it was not a bad way to live. He would work all the time, write songs all the time and go to the river. You can see Brad performing “River Bank” tonight on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
