Brad Paisley recently took a swipe at Tiger Woods when he spotted a Tiger Woods doll in a store. He sent out a tweet with a picture of the doll that said, “On sale now! Tiger Woods dolls! ToysRUs Closeout special! Brooks and Dunn will the play the final show of their Last Rodeo tour and the final show of their career as a duo this Thursday night in Nashville. The event will be a benefit for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and is expected to include a ton of guest stars who have not yet been announced. One of Kix and Ronnie’s closest friends, Reba, has mixed emotions about the duo splitting up. “At first when Ronnie told me I was a little hurt. I always see us as a trio, so I was like, golly, what are we gonna do now?” she told us. “Well, we still hang out, we still have fun, we still go to each other’s houses and have dinners and parties and see each other at events and stuff, so that eased it.” And once she got over the initial sadness of Brooks & Dunn no longer existing she got excited about their individual futures. She says, “Then I thought, my gosh, what are they gonna do next? And then I was curious. And now I’m getting a little melancholy again because I don’t want to see that end. I love, they are just as different as night and day. They’re like spunky and serious and I love … I was watching Cowboy Town yesterday, and I watched it two times, and I’d cry and then I’d laugh, I’d giggle. They’re just so entertaining at whatever they do. So I’m gonna miss ‘em together, but I still love ‘em separately. So I am so curious to see what they’re gonna do next, individually. And you better believe it’s gonna be something great.”
Martina McBride has checked in with a new blog and revealed that she’s recorded a new duet with Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics for his new solo album. Dave recorded his entire album at Martina’s Blackbird Studios in Nashville. Her husband John engineered and mixed the album and Martina sang on a song called “All Messed Up On Love,” which she says is “SO great.” There’s no word on when Dave’s solo project will be released, but Martina said she would keep us posted. She also gave an update on her daughters. Ava, her youngest, started kindergarten, and apparently she is loving it and making lots of friends including four boys that she says are “boys and friends” so she can call them her boyfriends. Martina says, “I think we’re in trouble! ” Her oldest, Delaney, is a sophomore in high school and has started a club in her school for Love Is Respect, which teaches girls about self-esteem and the challenges of teen dating. They talk about signs of abuse and what defines a healthy relationship. As you can imagine, Martina is very proud of her. And her middle daughter Emma is now in 7th grade and she’s playing volleyball. You can read the entire blog here.
Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift recently had a meeting of the mutual admiration society on Twitter. Miranda had a little trouble getting her point across but she eventually got there. She first tweeted, “Just watched the video for ‘mine’. Taylor is a freaking great songwriter … Careless man’s careless daughter is a great line! Good job girl.” Shortly after she realized her mistake and tweeted, “Ooops careful daughter. Eaither way….I think she can turn a phrase better than most:)” And of course she had to then tweet that she meant “Either.” Realizing all her errors she said, “I hate it when my fingers are faster than my brain. (Blake . . . shut up . . . ” But Taylor got the message and she appreciated it. She tweeted back to Miranda, “@Miranda_lambert your tweet made me smile so big! I’m so stoked that you like that lyric!! I was full on giggling watching your new video ” (for “Only Prettier).

Blake Shelton is known for his colorful language and interesting subject matter in his Twitter posts and his good buddy Craig Morgan told us, “I love Blake Shelton, “He is my friend, he’s just an idiot. I mean everybody has one. Everybody has a friend that, at the end of the day you can’t help but love the guy,” he said, laughing.” “I mean he’s gotta be one of the most rude individuals, and gets away with it. I mean, everybody reads his Twitters. I don’t have it in me to be that ugly to people and he does and I just think it’s funny that he does that and gets away with it.” While Blake may have some of the most interesting tweets, he’s not the only country star that loves to use Twitter. Craig has a theory why Twitter is so popular. “Let me tell you why country singers love Twitter,” he said laughing. “140 characters … or less! It don’t require a whole lot to say what you’ve gotta say, and we’re pretty short, you know. I like it. I know that’s why Blake (Shelton) likes it. I’m just sorry that the spell check isn’t better on Twitter.”

Taylor Swift wrote all of the songs for her new Speak Now album entirely on her own, and while it was a lot of work, for Taylor, songwriting is a necessary part of life. “If I’ve just written a song, I’m the happiest you will ever see me,” Taylor tells Entertainment Weekly. “But if I haven’t written a song in a week and a half, I am more stressed than you will ever, ever see me at any other point. If I haven’t written a song in more than about nine days, that’s when I start to zone out in the middle of conversations because I’m thinking about what I could be writing about next.” As for the content of the album Taylor says the songs aren’t necessarily about love, but about every emotion she’s felt in the last two years. She says “There are some that are about infatuation and adoration and the positive, magical feelings of love. But then there are the ones that deal with when it goes wrong, which it oftentimes does. And all the different ways that it can go wrong and all the different ways it can make you feel and all the different phases of that you go through.” You can read more from Taylor about her new album here and in the Fall Music Preview in this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly.
