Taylor Swift has landed at #9 on TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list for 2010. Stevie Nicks, yes, the Stevie Nicks she perofrmed with on the Grammy Awards, wrote her profile for the magazine. She praised Taylor, saying, “Taylor reminds me of myself in her determination and her childlike nature. It’s an innocence that’s so special and so rare. This girl writes the songs that make the whole world sing, like Neil Diamond or Elton John. She sings, she writes, she performs, she plays great guitar.” And as if that wasn’t enough, she gave Taylor her overwhelming stamp of approval by saying, “Taylor is writing for the universal woman and for the man who wants to know her. The female rock-’n’-roll-country-pop songwriter is back, and her name is Taylor Swift. And it’s women like her who are going to save the music business.” Taylor joins other notables on the list such as Oprah, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Sandra Bullock, Lady Gaga, Robert Pattinson and others. You can see the complete list here. You can also read Stevie’s full profile on Taylor here.
Keith Urban once told us that after he and John Mayer filmed their CMT Crossroads together they were considering doing a tour together. Well, it’s not a tour, but they have announced what may become the first of many dates they play together, on August 28th, when they’ll perform at The Gorge in Spokane, Washington. “I had the best time playing with John on CMT Crossroads,” says Keith. “There’s a certain simpatico between us as guitar players that , I think , comes from sharing the same desire to express the unwritten. Their CMT Crossroads will premiere at 10pm eastern on June 18th.

Just when Mindy McCready thought her troubles might be behind her comes word that the sex tape she was trying to block Vivid Entertainment from releasing, will likely be for sale very soon. When the entertainment company first started promoting the video, Mindy McCready: Baseball Mistress, Mindy and her lawyer fired off a cease and desist saying the company had no legal consent or authroization to release the tape, which apparently shows Mindy in some very graphic situations. But apparently, Mindy forgot she signed a notarized release form in 2009, giving away all rights to the tape and verifying that she had been paid for the footage. E! Online obtained the release, which can be seen here.
Martina McBride was supposed to be heading to Europe this summer for a short tour, but the tour has had to be postponed because of scheduling and routing issues. Martina wrote a blog that said, “I won’t bore you with the details, but suffice it to say I’m really disappointed and sorry. I was truly looking forward to playing the shows in Norway and the UK. We had a blast last year and it was an amazing experience playing for so many enthusiastic fans. I’m so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. I know many of you were looking forward to these shows as well, and have already made travel plans, etc. I wish there was some way I could change it, but unfortunately there are a lot of details and people that go into planning a tour overseas, and this is just out of my control. Hopefully we can get this tour back on the schedule sooner than later.”
