Kenny Chesney’s Welcome to the Fishbowl is Out Today

Kenny Chesney’s new album, Welcome to the Fishbowl, is out today.  Kenny says, “This album was unlike any other just for the emotional journey that I went on to make it.  The songs on this album are very personal… So in that sense, this is probably the most vulnerable I’ve ever been as an artist on a record, and that comes with time.”  Kenny says one thing he has learned to do is to not edit himself so much and to be more honest and authentic.  He admits, “There’s a couple of songs on here that I’ve actually had recorded for a while that just couldn’t come out yet.  I wasn’t comfortable with it.  And so when I talk about that emotional journey that I’ve been on, this album has been like none other because it doesn’t just span from the time that we released Hemingway’s Whiskey to now.  I mean it’s several years and I think the people that have lived with me out there on the road and listened to my music for as long as I’ve been making it, they kind of deserve to know that and deserve the truth about some of these songs.  That being said though, it wasn’t easy.  But it was good.  When I listen to it now I’m glad I did it.”
